Last Sunday Ben and I wanted to get outta the house.
In doing so, we decided to enjoy mother nature and venture towards Cooks Forest.
After realizing none of our friends wanted to join, we decided to take Alex.
(Yes, poor O-Diggity had to stay home)
This trip was for big boys only :)

We went to Beartown Rocks.
Alex had never been there...he fell in love with it!

He had to position us just perfect on the lookout platform for a picture.

He enjoyed picking up the acorns and putting them in trees for the squirrels to eat.
Here he had is face up to the tree yelling in a hole for the squirrel to come get his dinner.
He LOVED climbing all the rocks. He showed NO fear! Surprised? We had to keep reminding him to keep his hands in front of him so if he fell he could catch himself.
He kept asking, "Where are the bears?" So here, they were on the top of a rock hunting for them.
We also took him to the Double Diamond Deer Ranch.
Kelli, close your eyes...yes, he was petting the dirty deer :)
He was more concerned about the little chipmunks rather than the huge antlers.
Glow in the dark Mini-Golf.
He used his own money ($6.00) for this.
The one thing he wanted to do all day.
He said he had more fun with Uncle Matt though....:(

I think because Uncle Matt let him throw the ball "Like a bulls eye" he said,
rather than hit it with the club.
Before going home, we stopped at Farmer's Inn to play on the playground.
Vanilla Ice Cream+Hot Fudge+Whipped Cream+Cherry=SUGAR!!!
(Just in time to arrive home for mommy and daddy)

Wow, you guys look like you had a great time. Ben you'll make a great dad someday and Rooner, I know you will make a great MOMMY too. Alex will cherish these memories forever!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for taking him on a little field trip for the day. He is still talking about it! He loved the rocks. I can't wait to return the favor. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteI sure can't wait to get up there. At least then My great nephews will get to know me. You all looked like you had a great time. He will always remember times like this. What a great Aunt.
ReplyDeleteI love this post!
ReplyDelete1. The pics of Ben and Alex are great. The one of their backs made me think of him as a daddy!!! PS - Ben's hair looks so nice short :)
2. I knew before reading the caption, that alex had positioned you two perfect just by the grins on your faces
3. The yelling in the tree is truly pricelss. It looks like he is smashing his head agains the tree sleeping or something
4. The minigolf story about having more fun with uncle matt is probably true...matt seems to be like dad in that rules don't always apply when it is just the two of you out for a day having fun :)
5. the ice cream sounds sooo good right now!
